RAILENIUM - INVENTING RAIL FORRAILENIUM is an initiative to set up a technological research institute dedicated to railway infrastructure. “There is a real need for a project such as this,” said Yves Ravalard, scientific director, i-Trans, a key member of the project consortium. “Infrastructure is the most costly part of the rail system and this is why it has been the object of less research.” Based in the north of France, the collaboration between industry leaders, small/medium-sized companies, and public-sector research stakeholders, aims to promote technological innovation in the field and so provide a platform for showcasing the excellence of French and European technology in the international market.
